Show us Your Shorts is a Student Film Festival in Australia.
Show Us Your Shorts (SUYS) is a Student Film Festival and competiton, run as part of the yearly Warburton Film Festival 2009. Australian students are invited to submit their short-films (based on this years theme - My Place, My Family, My Environment.
The Festival is open to all Australian students. Short Film Competiion. Prizes are awarded in several categories and divisions. The application form is available through the Show Your Your Shorts website - www.showusyourshorts.com.au

The “Show us your shorts” film competition will form an important part of the Warburton Film Festival in 2009. It will see the fulfillment of a dream to allow young people to express themselves on film and enjoy exposure of their creativity to a large audience.
THEME: My Place/ My Family/My Environment
The interpretation of this theme is up to you. Get creative and shoot your film.
ELIGIBILITY
This is a Student film maker’s competition, open to all students currently living & studying in Australia.
PRIZES
Prizes will be awarded in the following categories:
Best Drama
Best Documentary
Best Animation (including “Flash Animation”)
Prizes available include summer or winter courses at the highly respected Victorian College Of The Arts (VCA) - School of Film and Television to students 16-18years of age - to kick start your world of film and television. Cash Prizes are awarded to winners aged 18 years and over. There's also loads more encouragement prizes! As always ... judges decisions are final.

SCREENING
A screening of all accepted films will occur at The Upper Yarra Arts Centre on Friday 12th June 2009. Winning entries will be re- screened as part of the 26th Annual Warburton Film Festival, commencing Friday evening and concluding Sunday the 14th of June.

Young people are invited to “Show us your shorts”, an exciting short film competition that kicks-off the 2009 Warburton Film Festival.
According to Festival Coordinator Dagmar Limp “the student competition encourages young people across Victoria to express themselves on film and be exposed to a large film audience”.
Films 10 min. and under will address the theme “My Place/ My Family /My environment”. Prizes will be awarded for Best Drama, Best Documentary and Best Animation.
Ms Limp said prizes for students under 18 years include VCA School for Film and Television short film courses. For winners over 18 years, cash prizes of $500 will be awarded.
There will also be a number of other awards including a $300 cash prize and trophy sponsored by the Natural Resources Conservation League for the film that best depicts the environment and its impact on the filmmaker’s world.
The overall winner of the Golden Shorts Award carries a $500.00 cash prize.
Entries are open to all students currently living and studying in Australia and must be received by Friday the 8th of May 2009 on DVD format.
Ms Limp said all accepted films would be screened at the Upper Yarra Arts in Warburton on Friday 12 June 2009 as part of the 26th Warburton film Festival with the winning films re-screened over the weekend.
